Tallulah Falls is 0-6 against Rabun County since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tallulah Falls Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Rabun County Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Tallulah Falls beat Athens Christian 72-60. The victory was all the more spectacular given Tallulah Falls' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while Athens Christian is ranked 204th).
Meanwhile, Rabun County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Elbert County with a sharp 83-62 win. Winning may never get old, but Rabun County sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Huey Blalock and Cooper Welch were among the main playmakers for Rabun County as the former dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 assists and the latter scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Welch is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayes Free, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Tallulah Falls' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-18. As for Rabun County, they pushed their record up to 11-13 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Tallulah Falls came up short against Rabun County when the teams last played back in January, falling 62-54. Can Tallulah Falls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
