The Charter Oak Chargers will head out to face off against the Northview Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Charter Oak comes in on nine and Northview on three.
Charter Oak's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against West Covina as they made off with an 18-0 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Lei Diebert made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and one stolen base while going 4-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Skylar Wright was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Deana Moreno, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Northview made easy work of Rowland on Friday and carried off a 12-1 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.
Annaliah Zuniga spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Melany Fernandez and Mila Elizalde did most of the damage at the plate: Fernandez went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Elizalde went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Bella Ochoa also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Northview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.
Charter Oak's record is now 14-3. As for Northview, their record now sits at 15-7.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Charter Oak hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .410. However, it's not like Northview struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Charter Oak was able to grind out a solid victory over Northview in their previous matchup last Wednesday, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
