Aledo and Chisholm Trail are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2016, but likely not for long. The Bearcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aledo will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Chisholm Trail's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Aledo hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Everything went the Bearcats' way against Brewer on Friday as they made off with a 9-0 victory. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Not much got past TEMPE PERRY, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Brewer off the board. PERRY has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, KYLEIGH PAWLAK was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. MARINA TAVERAS was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
PAWLAK wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Aledo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Chisholm Trail came up short against Brewer on Tuesday, falling 16-1. The Rangers have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Aledo pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Chisholm Trail, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11-1.
Everything went Aledo's way against Chisholm Trail in their previous matchup back in March, as Aledo made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
