Volleyball Recap: Eastbrook Takes a Loss

Eastbrook lost against Muncie Burris back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Owls, falling 3-0. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Eastbrook took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-20, 25-21.

Adrianna Cogan paced Eastbrook's offense, picking up six kills. Cogan got some help from Sloan Brown and her ten assists. Addie Rust controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Muncie Burris' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amelia Howell led the charge by getting 16 digs and three aces. Those 16 digs gave Howell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Howell, who had five digs and three aces.

Eastbrook's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Muncie Burris, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Eastbrook wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Taylor on the 24th. As for Muncie Burris, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Frankton on the 25th.
