Charlotte Latin had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mitchell Mountaineers 48-13. That's more bragging rights for the Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
De'Jon Douglas was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 151 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries, and also caught one score. Another rusher making a difference was Dallas Chapman, who rushed for 115 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Charlotte Latin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 340 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mitchell only rushed for 185 rushing yards.
