3A Metro - Sound recap October 22, 2013
Ingraham's Emmery Porter recorded the longest rushing play in 3A Metro - Sound this season in his game against Hale last week. Porter's team lost to the Raiders as he sprinted for 75 yards on the play and finished with 131 in all.
Hale added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Ingraham, 30-14. The win marks fourth in a row for the Hoover Hopkins' team.
Eli Smith's team's dynamic duo of Ryan Kyle and Louis Richardson proved tough for the Raiders to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kyle threw for 49 yards and 1 touchdown and Richardson had 30 yards receiving. Reuben Varnado helped Ingraham's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 10 yards.
James Flowers provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Franklin fell to Rainier Beach. Flowers' key target this week was Dupree Dailey, who caught 2 passes for 33 yards.
On the heels of Montique Jenkins and Flowers, the Quakers have had great success on offense. Jenkins leads the league in passing with 467 yards, while Flowers has rushed for 879 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Cleveland's Dale Daniels, with 224 yards on 12 catches.
The Eagles are in second place, while the Vikings are in third place.
West Seattle fell to Chief Sealth 49-19 last week, the largest margin of any game.
