The Front Range Christian Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Dawson School Mustangs at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Front Range Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Front Range Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Bishop Machebeuf just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buffaloes.

Haedan Morton put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for Front Range Christian: the team is 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Morton was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Morton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon Deza, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 21 runs the game before, Dawson School was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Dayspring Christian Academy, falling 14-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered against the Eagles since April 12, 2018.
Milo Richtel was cooking despite his team's loss, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-2.
Front Range Christian's record now sits at 10-6. As for Dawson School, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-7 record.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Front Range Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Dawson School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Front Range Christian might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Dawson School in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
