Basketball Recap: Stratford Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Stratford had lost three straight headed into Friday's match, but Ciara Mustapher didn't let it get to four. The Stratford Knights really took it to the Colleton County Cougars for the full four quarters, racking up an 80-49 win thanks in part to Mustapher, who posted 26 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Her evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sydnie Stepney, who had six points along with nine boards and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 17 times she's played.

Stratford's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Colleton County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stratford will head out to take on Summerville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summerville will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Stratford surely won't give up without a fight. As for Colleton County, they will head out on the road to square off against May River at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colleton County is facing May River at the right time seeing as May River is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
