The Hi-Plains Patriots scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over Miami-Yoder. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Hi-Plains has posted since December 8, 2023.
Hi-Plains' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bex Seaman led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Seaman has scored at least a third of Hi-Plains' points. Another player making a difference was Hugo Vara, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Hi-Plains' win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Miami-Yoder, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Hi-Plains will head out on the road to challenge Cheyenne Wells at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Miami-Yoder, they will be playing at home against Cripple Creek-Victor at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
