The Archbishop Mitty Monarchs will challenge the Sheldon Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Archbishop Mitty 2.2, Sheldon 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Archbishop Mitty's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against St. Ignatius College Preparatory by a score of 4-0.

The result came thanks to Kyleigh Mace's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rylie Hicks, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Danika Contreras also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Sheldon waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Wolfpack as they made off with a 16-2 victory. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.
Micah Kennedy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Kennedy was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Natalia Aguilar was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Sinitalela Heleta was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Sheldon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Archbishop Mitty's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average this season. As for Sheldon, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Archbishop Mitty has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sheldon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Archbishop Mitty skirted past Sheldon 6-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Will the Monarchs repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
