Fairview is on a four-game streak of home wins, while North East is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will host the Grape Pickers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Fairview 2.5, North East 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Monday, Fairview beat Corry 7-3. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Beavers: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Liam Hermann, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Stevens, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, North East fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Girard on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets.
Jerek Turlij put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Caleb Triana was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Colton Owens was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
North East's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Fairview, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
Fairview was able to grind out a solid win over North East in their previous meeting back in April, winning 7-4. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Grape Pickers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
