Wilson has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The West Morgan Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 334th, while West Morgan is ranked 52nd).
Last Friday, Wilson had to suffer through a rough 63-28 loss at the hands of Brooks. Wilson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-8.
Meanwhile, West Morgan put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by East Lawrence on the road to the tune of 64-18. Fans of West Morgan have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
West Morgan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ti'Airrius Mosley led the charge by picking up 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Jalen Fletcher also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Wilson's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for West Morgan, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
Wilson was taken down by West Morgan 61-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Wilson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
