Deep Run's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the James River Midlothian Rapids with a sharp 14-6 win. Considering the Wildcats have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Emily Plank made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Deep Run let Braelyn Baulsir and Brooke Black run wild.
