The Eagle Pass Eagles have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 65-54 win over Cornerstone Christian on Friday.
Despite the loss, Cornerstone Christian still got an impressive performance from Benjamin Wagner, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds. Wagner continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Joaquin Galindo was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Eagle Pass' victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Cornerstone Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Eagle Pass is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Harlandale at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. Harlandale knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Eagle Pass likes a good challenge. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will square off against Veterans Memorial at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Veterans Memorial is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
