The Highland Cougars's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 63-53 victory over Louisiana. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Highland's 24-point performance the game before.
Despite the loss, Louisiana still got an impressive performance from Wyatt Martin, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. Martin scored a full 47.2% of Louisiana's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Quincy Mooney was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
The victory got Highland back to even at 1-1. As for Louisiana, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland will take on Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Louisiana, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Van-Far at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Van-Far focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Monday.
