Meanwhile, Stevens Point won against Wausau West on Tuesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Panthers beat Marshfield by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-1. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Reanna Canfield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordan Roth, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Morgan Groshek was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Stevens Point hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marshfield struck out seven times.
Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Stevens Point, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .378. However, it's not like Stevens Point struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
