Canterbury School and Cheshire Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Saints will be playing at home against the Cats at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Canterbury School 3.4, Cheshire Academy 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Saturday, Canterbury School needed a bit of extra time to put away Suffield Academy. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.
Carter Heagle made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one double.

Cheshire Academy pushed their record up to 20-1 with the victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Canterbury School, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Sunday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Canterbury School has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cheshire Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
