Even though The Morris Eagles have not done well against the Beggs Demons recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Morris enjoyed a cozy 16-2 victory over Beggs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Morris.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morris to victory, but perhaps none more so than Koen Burgess, who rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 47 yards and a touchdown. Cruze Lawson and his 101 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Morris' victory.
Morris' victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Beggs, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Morris will be playing at home against Okmulgee on Friday. Okmulgee is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Beggs, they will head out on the road to face off against Sperry on Thursday.
