The Neuse Christian Academy Lions's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They managed a 39-35 win over Cristo Rey Research Triangle. The win was just what Neuse Christian Academy needed coming off of a 63-32 loss in their prior game.
Neuse Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Carter Brown, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Martin, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Cristo Rey Research Triangle saw an underclassman step up: Jamaal Miller dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Miller scored a full 57.1% of Cristo Rey Research Triangle's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Zion Dix was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds.
Neuse Christian Academy's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Cristo Rey Research Triangle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neuse Christian Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome St. Thomas More Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Cristo Rey Research Triangle will take on Liberty Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
