The Ord Chanticleers posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Arcadia/Loup City 69-42 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-19.
Ord's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marin Reilly, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Natalie Williams, who scored 14 points.
When it comes to explaining why Arcadia/Loup City lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eva Jaixen. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Chilewski, who scored eight points along with seven assists and two steals.
The victory got Ord back to even at 7-7. As for Arcadia/Loup City, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road.
Ord and Wood River will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wood River is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Arcadia/Loup City, they will head out on the road to take on Doniphan-Trumbull at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Doniphan-Trumbull focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Tuesday.
