The Marina Mariners entered their tilt with the Stevenson Pirates with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Everything went Marina's way against Stevenson on Monday as Marina made off with a 61-38 victory. Marina has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.
Marina had a senior duo take command as Julius Robinson scored 23 points and Jordan Bonnard Webb scored 19 points. Robinson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah True, who scored 11 points.
Tate Toole and Cooper Olin certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Toole scored 12 points, while Olin scored ten points along with two steals. Kekoa Williams was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Marina is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Stevenson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
Marina does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stevenson, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Watsonville at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Stevenson is facing Watsonville at the right time seeing as Watsonville is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
