The Thunderbird Titans will square off against the Cesar Chavez Champions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Thunderbird is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Last Monday, everything went Thunderbird's way against Agua Fria as Thunderbird made off with a 14-3 win. The Titans have beaten the Owls the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Owls has come to flipping the script.
Evan Kolesar made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Thunderbird let Andrew Cohill and Matt Hornburg run wild. Cohill scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Hornburg went 1-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. The dominant performance gave Cohill a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Meza, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Thunderbird was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Cesar Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 11-5 to Liberty.
Cesar Chavez saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luis Herrera, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That hit was Herrera's first of the season.
Cesar Chavez now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Thunderbird, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Thunderbird's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. Thunderbird has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game.
