In what's become a running theme this season, the Centauri Falcons gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They claimed a resounding 63-35 win over Montezuma-Cortez at home. Given Centauri's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Montezuma-Cortez is ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Kaleb Anderson, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Garcia, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Centauri has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Montezuma-Cortez, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centauri won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Alamosa at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they will head out on the road to challenge Pagosa Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pagosa Springs will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
