New Plymouth has gone a perfect 10-0 against Melba recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Pilgrims will welcome the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. New Plymouth will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
New Plymouth is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Vision on Monday as they made off with a 26-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Pilgrims in their matchups with Vision: they've now won six in a row.
LeeAnn Hartzell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those triples marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Victoria Gluch, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makayla Howard, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3.
New Plymouth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 18 runs the game before, Melba was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They came up short against Nampa Christian, falling 16-1. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Melba saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kali Adams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.
New Plymouth's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Melba, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
New Plymouth was able to grind out a solid victory over Melba when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 11-7. Will the Pilgrims repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
