Sevier County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Headrick and Zach Banks. Joey Galazin was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.
The victory (which was Sevier County's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.3 points on average over those games. As for West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Looking ahead, Sevier County will look to defend their home field on Friday against Walker Valley at 7:00 p.m. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Newman and Chase Stephens. West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
