The Westminster Christian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Yorkville Christian at home and fell 73-28. Westminster Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.
Yorkville Christian found their leader in underclassman Payton Wallin, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wallin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Bulson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten assists.
Westminster Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Yorkville Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westminster Christian's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Rochelle Zell Jewish at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Yorkville Christian will take on Earlville at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Earlville is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
