Oak Ridge strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Clearwater Fightin' Tigers. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Blue Jays have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Kaelyn Deckerd made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Deckerd wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kinsley Bogenpohl, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Oak Ridge's win bumped their record up to 16-0. As for Clearwater, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-6.
