The biggest upset of the week belonged to Southern Wayne, who took down 276th ranked Southern Wayne, 31-24.
Maurice McBryde and Brandon McLean provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Eastern Wayne. The connection was good for 65 yards, the longest such play in 3A Eastern Carolina this season.
Triton's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. McBryde threw for 156 and two touchdowns and McLean had 65 yards receiving. On the ground Dedrick Stacker chipped in 175 yards. Stacker helped Triton's passing attack out by catching one ball for 62 yards.
Justin Malloy made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Hawks topped the Warriors. The senior forced one fumble and grabbed one sack.
C.B. Aycock's Austin Snowden and Neil Clark have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Snowden has thrown for 691 yards this season, while Clark, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 12 catches for 187 yards. Triton's Stacker leads the league in rushing yards with 1185.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when South Johnston takes on Ashley Ennis' team. At the moment, the Trojans are in third, while the Hawks are in first.
Triton extended the longest winning streak in 3A Eastern Carolina this week by beating Eastern Wayne, 45-26. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Hawks.
