The Belmont Bison had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Thurgood Marshall with a sharp 84-59 win on Tuesday. The win was just what Belmont needed coming off of a 74-53 loss in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Belmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Denzell Ogle, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Ogle hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Judah Baldwin, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Belmont now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Thurgood Marshall, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belmont will square off against Stivers School for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Stivers School for the Arts focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for Thurgood Marshall, they will head out on the road to take on Ponitz Career Tech at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Ponitz Career Tech's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
