Adding to the longest winning streak in 5A Region 2 this week, Russell beat Eufaula 42-6. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Wildcats.
Russell took down the Tigers 42-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bryant Horn threw for 104 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 53 yards in the win.
Horn put up the best numbers in passing as Danny Horn's team bested Eufaula. Horn's favorite target this week was Lajarret Ford, who caught 3 passes for 41 yards.
The Wildcats' Horn and Ford have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Horn has thrown for 1,463 yards this season, while Ford has 33 catches for 472 yards. D.J. Bailey from Valley leads the league in rushing with 1,078 yards.
Joshua Johnson of the Russell County is only 36 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 130 carries Johnson has put up 964 yards this year.
Russell led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Daniel Klages' team. Horn ran for 53 yards during the win.
