2A Conference 8 recap November 19, 2013
T.W. Andrews extended the longest winning streak in 2A Conference 8 this week by beating Southwest Edgecombe, 43-15. The win marks 11th in a row for the the Red Raiders.
Randleman fell to North Brunswick 49-17 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Eastern Randolph's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Tigers' Nathan Sloan and Juval Mollette have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Sloan has thrown for 1,231 yards this season, while Mollette has 56 catches for 661 yards. Marquell Cartwright from T.W. Andrews leads the league in rushing with 711 yards.
The Wildcats made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,509 from 6,091. The advance stemmed from a 51-42 victory over Farmville Central last week.
