The Fort Bend Christian Academy Eagles were the 45-44 winner over the Lutheran South Academy Pioneers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Fort Bend Christian Academy took a 48-34 bruising from Lutheran South Academy on Friday.
Despite the loss, Fort Bend Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Skye Shell scored ten points along with four steals. Shell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Reagan Yurasek, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
It was another big night for Makynna Robbins, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds for Lutheran South Academy. Robbins has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 16 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bianca Barba, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Fort Bend Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-12. As for Lutheran South Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Bend Christian Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome Kelly Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Kelly Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Lutheran South Academy, they will be playing at home against Second Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
