Jefferson is 0-7 against the Bulldogs since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Jefferson's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Demi Pane, who scored eight points, and Grace Strong who scored eight points along with six assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Le Mars beat the Wolverines 57-51 on Friday. Given Le Mars' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Wolverines are ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jefferson dropped their record down to 1-17 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Le Mars, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
