After each having a week off, the Northwest Catholic Lions and the Rocky Hill Terriers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Catholic will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Northwest Catholic hadn't beaten Plainville on the road since October 7, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them last Friday. The Lions came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 20-13.
Northwest Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vincent Burbank led the charge by throwing for 225 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also rushing for 30 yards and one score. The Lions' leading receiver Kayden Davis was Burbank's top target yet again, picking up 156 receiving yards and one TD.
Northwest Catholic's run defense was locked in: Plainville could only muster three yards per carry. The team can thank Bryce Jones for the heroic effort on defense: he. Northwest Catholic didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged six.

Northwest Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Burbank and Jones. Jones also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 12.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Rocky Hill, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They took down Lewis Mills 22-8 last Friday. The win continues a trend for the Terriers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.
The critical scores for Rocky Hill came from Rathan Tejeda, Tanoro Edwards, and Mason Margiotta.
The victory got Rocky Hill back to even at 2-2. As for Northwest Catholic, their record now sits at 4-0.
Northwest Catholic strolled past Rocky Hill in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 37-20. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Terriers' Joey Motes, who rushed for 116 yards and three scores, and also threw for 165 yards on 15 of 28 attempts. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Lions to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
