The Hanks Knights entered their tilt with the Del Valle Conquistadores with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Hanks secured a 53-47 W over the Conquistadores on Tuesday. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 11 more assists than your opponent, as Hanks did.
Israel Gonzalez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Martin Gomez, who scored nine points.
Del Valle's loss came despite strong showings from Ryu Nunez and Andrew Serrano. Nunez scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Serrano scored 11 points along with four steals. Nunez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Nunez, who scored eight points.
Hanks' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-13. As for Del Valle, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanks will take on the Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Parkland is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Del Valle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ysleta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
