Southeastern Local is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell 9-5 to Greenon on Tuesday. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Knights since on Tuesday.
Hayden Davis led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Eli Goodbar was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Cedarville made sure to put some runs up on the board against East Clinton on Thursday. The Indians put the hurt on the Astros with a sharp 12-1 win. The game marked the Indians' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Wyatt Percival made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Percival was also solid in the batter's box, earning three RBI, one run, and one stolen base. That run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Cedarville let Zach Creeden and Jacob Lide run wild. Creeden got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Lide went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Cedarville is 2-1 when Creeden posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Micah Burr, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Cedarville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win got Cedarville back to even at 4-4. As for Southeastern Local, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
