Skyluhr Hulbert made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hulbert was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Bowers, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Nova Pate, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Wake Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Wakefield has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.33 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Rolesville as they made off with a 16-10 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won eight in a row.
Kensley Harrison made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.
In other batting news, Brianna Riehle was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Lampman, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Wakefield's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Wake Forest, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wake Forest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Wakefield struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
