Second Baptist University-Model has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge Memorial Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Second Baptist University-Model will be strutting in after a victory while the will be coming in after a loss.
Last Monday, Second Baptist University-Model made easy work of the Lions and carried off a 57-35 win.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 24-24 at halftime, Memorial Lutheran was not quite the Eagles' equal in the second half on Tuesday. Memorial Lutheran ended up on the wrong side of a tough 66-45 walloping at the hands of the Eagles. Memorial Lutheran has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Memorial Lutheran's defeat came about despite a quality game from David Porter, who scored 15 points. Porter is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Smith, who scored nine points.
Second Baptist University-Model's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Memorial Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Everything went Second Baptist University-Model's way against the when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the Eagles made off with a 56-34 victory. Will Second Baptist University-Model repeat their success, or do the have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
