Port Allegany put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Cameron County Raiders with a sharp 13-3 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Gators have posted against the Raiders since April 21, 2022.

Nicholas Wilfong made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Tyler Fillhart and Levi Howard did most of the damage at the plate: Fillhart scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Howard went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave Howard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tayton Roys, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Port Allegany hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cameron County struck out 11 times.

Port Allegany's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Cameron County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Port Allegany will face off against Smethport at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cameron County, they will be playing at home against Oswayo Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders are facing the Green Wave at the right time seeing as the Green Wave are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
