Ninety Six has gone 8-2 against Dixie recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Ninety Six and Mid-Carolina have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Rebels. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Meghan Kimberling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Laural Fleming, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. She is also on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Shelby Temples, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Fleming wasn't the only one making solid contact: Ninety Six kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Hornets on Tuesday. Dixie came out on top in a nail-biter against Ware Shoals, sneaking past 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Dixie has posted since March 27th.
Dixie pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Ninety Six, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
Everything went Ninety Six's way against Dixie when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Ninety Six made off with a 14-4 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
