Harlan and Vandegrift squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Harlan had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Vandegrift Vipers, falling 47-14. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Harlan's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Payton Matthews, who picked up 100 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Adrien Mcdade, who rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown. That's the most receiving yards Matthews has posted since back in October.

Miles Teodecki continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Vandegrift, throwing for 259 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also rushing for 36 yards. Teodecki is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played. Brendan Fournier was in the mix too, providing Vandegrift with two touchdowns.

Harlan's loss dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Vandegrift, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.

Harlan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vandegrift, they will square off against Summer Creek at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. One thing working in Vandegrift's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last nine contests.
