Softball Recap: Lebanon Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Lebanon's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Crawfordsville Athenians by a score of 10-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Miley Wilhoite was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Ali Bir was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Krryn Miller, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Lebanon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 10-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Lebanon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Crawfordsville, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lebanon will challenge North Montgomery at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargin' Chargers have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Crawfordsville, they will square off against Western Boone at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Stars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Athenians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
