Elizabeth Forward let Cy Herchelroath and AJ Grese run wild. Herchelroath went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs, while Grese got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five RBI gave Herchelroath a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Peterson, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Albert Gallatin lost 8-1 to Trinity on Thursday. The Colonials haven't had much luck with the Hillers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Albert Gallatin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Weakland, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Albert Gallatin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-1. As for Elizabeth Forward, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Albert Gallatin's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Elizabeth Forward has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Albert Gallatin, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Elizabeth Forward keep running through batters, or will the Colonials buck the trend?
