Montclair extended the longest winning streak in Super Essex - American this week by beating West Orange, 22-19. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Seton Hall Prep took down Livingston 56-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. John Burkly threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Nate Crutchfield and Michael Million gave Montclair a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Crutchfield threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns, while Million ran for 146 yards. Clarence Sears also contributed to the rushing game with 22 yards on the ground.
Clay Austin was the best wideout in the league this week as the Pirates beat the Lancers. Austin tallied two receptions for 77 yards. Mark Silvestri helped Seton Hall Prep's passing attack out by catching one ball for 31 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Deion Hudson of Columbia is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1015. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. On the ground, John Fiore's team's Million has rushed for 1312 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Austin. The Seton Hall Prep star has 24 catches for 478 yards.
A big matchup in Super Essex - American this week will be when Bloomfield takes on Seton Hall Prep. The Bengals are currently in second, while John Finnegan's team is in third.
The Mounties and the Mountaineers played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Mounties eventually emerging with a 22-19 victory. Crutchfield in the win.
