The Living Water Homeschool Marlins will head out on the road to challenge the North Central Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Living Water Homeschool is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games.
If Living Water Homeschool beats North Central with nine runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Marlins didn't even let Lawrence Central on the board on Monday, marking the Marlins' second-straight 9-0 shutout. The Marlins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by eight runs or more this season.
Nora Levy made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Macy Bush, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Hannah Jones was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, North Central had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Lawrence Central 9-2 on Friday. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29th (when they won 16-4).
Like Living Water Homeschool, North Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaelee Jacobs. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Jacobs was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Samantha Saalfrank was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaia Pantos, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
North Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are undefeated (4-0) when they post two or more strikeouts.
Living Water Homeschool's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for North Central, their record now sits at 6-13-1.
Living Water Homeschool couldn't quite get it done against North Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can the Marlins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
