The Southeast Halifax Trojans's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They strolled past Rocky Mount Prep with points to spare, taking the game 82-66. The victory was just what Southeast Halifax needed coming off of a 81-49 defeat in their prior match.
It was another big night for Trayvese Silver, who scored 18 points along with five steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Rodney Johnson, who scored 12 points.
Southeast Halifax's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road.
Southeast Halifax will be playing at home against Northwest Halifax at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Halifax will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while Southeast Halifax is ranked 233rd). As for Rocky Mount Prep, they will head out on the road to take on Tarboro at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
