Softball Recap: Unionville Wins Going Away Against Bishop Shanahan

Unionville's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Bishop Shanahan Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Shannon Megill and Addison Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Megill scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Smith went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Levendis, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Unionville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. Bishop Shanahan dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Unionville will challenge Oxford at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Unionville is facing Oxford at the right time seeing as Oxford is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bishop Shanahan, they will face off against Downingtown West at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
