The Sacred Heart Prep Gators will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Sequoia Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on December 6th. Sacred Heart Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three matchups.
Last Saturday, Sacred Heart Prep was fully in charge, breezing past Terra Nova 84-48 on the road. Given Sacred Heart Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Terra Nova is ranked 736th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sacred Heart Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JP Kerrigan, who scored 20 points along with 3 steals. The game was Kerrigan's third in a row with at least ten points. TJ O'Brien was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Sequoia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 50-27 loss at the hands of Cupertino. Sequoia has not had much luck with Cupertino recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The losses dropped Sacred Heart Prep to 2-1 and Terra Nova to 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Sacred Heart Prep against Sequoia in their previous meeting back in February as the squad secured a 80-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sacred Heart Prep since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
