The Ursuline Fighting Irish will head out on the road to square off against the Farrell Steelers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Even though Cardinal Mooney scored an imposing 58 points last Friday, Ursuline still came out on top. Ursuline took their match against Cardinal Mooney 69-58. Given Ursuline's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Cardinal Mooney is ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ursuline's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jaylen Gunther, who scored 19 points along with six assists, and Geno Lucente, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lucente has scored all season. Another player making a difference was DaShaun Will, who scored nine points along with six assists.
Meanwhile, Farrell scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Jamestown on the road to the tune of 86-23. Farrell has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 46 points or more this season.
Ursuline's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Farrell, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
