The Auburn Tigers waltzed into Thursday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Benjamin Russell 75-32 at home. The result was nothing new for Auburn, who have now won three matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Auburn's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Syriah Daniels, who scored 23 points along with 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Daniels has scored at least 25% of Auburn's points. Another player making a difference was Brooke Hallman, who scored 19 points along with 5 steals.
Auburn's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Benjamin Russell, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Auburn will square off against Greenforest at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greenforest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 208th in Georgia, while Auburn is ranked 49th in Alabama). Benjamin Russell is on the road again on Friday and play against Central of Coosa County at 5:30 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Central of Coosa County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
